Located at an altitude of 755 m n on the road leading to Mottarone, the Alpinia
Garden boasts a collection of 700 species of predominantly alpine and medicinal
plants.
The garden, conceived by lng. Gino Ambrosini and realised in 1931, extends
over an area of 12,000 hectares.
Also notable is the presence of a natural spring which, together with its spectacular
views, make this garden a pleasant spot from which seven lakes (Lake Maggiore,
Lake Orta, and 5 Lombard lakes) as well as the ltalian and Swiss Alps can be
admired. lt can also be reached by a short cable car ride up from Stresa.
